Obituary of Eric James Adams
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Eric J. (Scotty) Adams announce his passing on April 16/23 at the SJRH. Eric was born in Glasgow, Scotland on August 20, 1943, to the late William and Annabelle Adams.
After leaving the Military, Eric became an Automotive Painter until he retired. Eric was a long-time member of the Legion and volunteer for the annual Poppy campaigns. Eric loved to play pool, shuffleboard and cards. He loved to be outside in his gardens, planting flowers and vegetables. He had a great “green thumb” – could grow almost anything and would boast about it! Eric and his Soul Mate, Mary loved to travel – making trips back to Scotland, through parts of Canada and the USA or just hoping in the car and going for long drives.
Eric is survived by his children Darren, Jocelyn (Scott), Rebecca, Special daughters - Sherri “Lynn” (Stephen), Cindy (John), Grandsons – Johnathan (Kash), William, Nolan, Benjamin, Great Grand-daughters – Rebel-Rose and Riott-Ray (he was so proud to be a Great Grandfather to these very special little girls), Sister - Alice
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his Soul Mate Mary and brother Ernest.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mackin and Dr. Love and all the nurses in the Palliative Care wing at the SJRH. The care and compassion shown to our father was so remarkable, it’s hard to put in words. The sincere kindness shown to us, will not be forgotten. We were truly blessed for a team so amazing to care of our father. We are forever grateful.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Eric may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society. Online Condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
