Obituary of Debbie Sue Poirier
It is with broken hearts that the family of Debbie Sue Poirier of Saint John announce her untimely passing which occurred on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 8, 1960 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Jane Elizabeth (Foote) Porter (the late Lloyd Porter) and the late Claude Joseph Noel Poirier.
Debbie was employed as a security guard with the Corps of Commissionaires. This was a career that she truly enjoyed and was proud of. Debbie was passionate about all genres of music and most importantly treasured the times spent with her family and friends. She especially looked forward to creating memories and spoiling her precious grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jaxon. Debbie will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Debbie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cheyenne Poirier (Jason Young); precious grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jaxon who were their Nanny’s world; siblings, Robert Joseph Poirier, Anne-Marie Poirier, Edgar Joseph Paul Poirier and Claude Joseph "Joe" Poirier; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her grandparents, Mike and Sue Foote and Paul and Lorette Poirier.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Sophia Recovery Centre.
