Obituary of Margaret Ann Craig
It is with great sadness the family of Margaret Ann (Rourke) Craig announce her passing on Saturday June 10, 2023, at Bobby’s Hospice with her family by her side. Born in Saint John, N.B. in 1946, Margaret is a daughter of the late Nathan and Isabell (Savoy) Rourke, and widow of Paul Craig.
Margaret is survived by one son, Johnpaul Edward (Barbara) Craig, of Saint John, one daughter, Terri (Robert) Desjardins, of Saint John, four grandchildren, Bailey (Coady), Ryan, Benjamin (Courtney), Tyler, one great grandchild, Parker Lynn, one brother, John(Jackie Rourke), Sisters, Kathy(Ron) Gavin, Sue(Terry) Mullaly, Patti Fairwether, Karen (Jakie) Knudson, Eleanor(Paul) Lang, Ada (Doug) Hamilton, and niece, Ashley Hamilton.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Nathan and Isabell Rourke, her husband, Paul Craig, one brother, Edward Rourke, one sister Betty (Jonny) Rourke.
Margaret retired from the Bank Of Nova Scotia in 2002. Margaret loved to spend her time painting and baking for all of her family and friends, everyone looked forward to her famous pina colada squares she would make for any special occasion. Margaret spent many years relaxing with her close friends in Florida and her camp in Pocologan. Margaret loved spending time with her grandchildren and was always interested in what adventures they were having.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). A visitation will be held on Friday June 16, 2023, at Castle Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 17, 2023, at 10:00AM at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. A reception will be held following the Interment at Castle Funeral Home. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
