Betty will be profoundly missed by the love of her life Terence “Terry” Shorey, her son Robin Hebert (Carla), her daughters Susan McIntyre (Mark), Theresa Mullett (Ian), and Jennifer Shorey, her grandchildren Emily, Sean, Ryan, Grant, Kenneth, Carson, Matthew, Jennifer, Madyson, and Kaylee, her sisters Marie Burchill, and Susan Dempster, her father-in-law Eldon Shorey, her brother-in-law Norman Shorey (Lori), her sister-in-law Debbie Morrell (Aubrey), as well as many extended family members and friends. Born on November 8, 1951, Betty entered the world with a zest for life that would become her defining characteristic. Early in her career she welcomed children into her home and was affectionately called their “daytime mom.” Betty’s nurturing and genuine love for children created a warm and safe environment where these young souls thrived.

Throughout her life, Betty pursued various career endeavors, driven by her insatiable curiosity and determination. Her work ethic and versatile skills allowed her to excel in every pursuit in which she undertook. Betty’s dedication and passion served as an inspiration to her colleagues, earning her the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of working with her.

While Betty’s career achievements were significant, her true joy and fulfillment came from being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Betty’s commitment to her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She poured her heart and soul into creating a nurturing and loving home where her children could grow, thrive, and become the best versions of themselves.

Betty’s love and devotion extended beyond her immediate family. Her warm and caring nature touched the lives of all who crossed her path. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel special and valued. Betty’s infectious laughter, kind heart and genuine compassion left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

We celebrate a life well-lived, one that embodied resilience and love. Betty’s legacy will continue to inspire us to cherish life and to extend our compassion to those around us.
