Obituary of Shirley Louise Martell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Louise Martell at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 25, 2023, Shirley was born in Alma New Brunswick on February 6, 1936, daughter of the late Leverett and Lavera Butland.

Shirley had made a life in Ontario raising her family. She had worked at Neilson’s and Johnson Control's Ltd. companies as a data clerk for a number of years, Shirley retired then with her husband Bob. They filled their time with the Minor League Hockey Association in Ontario as the ticket clerks for game nights that she absolutely loved and enjoyed. Shirley and Bob moved back to Saint John New Brunswick in the late 90s where they had settled down to stay. Shirley was always smiling and loved by everyone, she had a genuine way of connecting with people and was never short on conversation. Shirley's Son nearest to her, Michael was devoted to her and always by her side, she loved being spoiled by him. Dinner outings, Sunday drives, and early morning weekend coffees he will miss her dearly.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Robert Martell; daughters, Debra Jean, and Cindy; granddaughter, Deidra. Shirley is survived by her sons, Donald, Michael (Shelly), and David (Kim); stepchildren, Dorothy Ann, Eddie, and Monty; sister: Dorothy Dalling (Robert)
grandchildren; Jennifer, Jessica, Jason, Trisha, Michael, Christopher, Michelle, Melissa, and MacKenzie; great-grandchildren; Emilie, Makkenzie, Ezekiel, Tobias, Rowan, and Willow; as well as several nieces and nephews.
