Obituary of Robert Charles McGuire

With broken hearts, the family of Robert Charles McGuire announce his sudden passing on July 10, 2023. Born in Saint John, NB on February 19, 1935, he was a son of the late John Arthur and Beatrice (nee Heenan) McGuire

Robert, commonly known as Bob, spent some 35 years as a proud member of the Saint John Fire Department where he rose to the role of District Chief. He thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie at SJFD where he developed lifelong friendships. In retirement, he enjoyed travelling, listening to Celtic music, and admiring the beauty of the St. John River.

Robert is survived by his two sons Robert, and David (Sang-soon); daughter, Anne (Roger); grandchildren, Noah, Sarah, Aidan, and Nolan; as well as his sister, Joan Warnell, and brother, Jack (Patricia). In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife F. Marian (nee Kane); sister, Betty; and brother, Donald.

 Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home (506) 634-1701 (309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB). In respecting Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place with no visitation or service to follow. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
