Obituary of Michelle Lynn Gass

After a lengthy battle with cancer, the family of Michelle Lynn (nee Poirier) Gass sadly announce her passing on July 14, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, on September 9, 1982, she was the daughter to Raymond and Christine (nee Dowd) Poirier.

Michelle is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Donald “Donnie” Gass; her cherished daughter Mikayla; father Raymond and stepmother Pam Tracy; grandmother Joan Dowd; brothers Robbie and Mike; stepsister Shauna Paul; father-in-law Gerald and mother-in-law Diane; sisters-in-law Vicki and Beth (Mike Conley); best friend Leane; as well as many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by her mother Christine; paternal grandparents Al & Liz Poirier; and maternal grandfather Bill Dowd.

The Gass family would like to thank everyone who supported Michelle throughout her journey. Your kindness and compassion were greatly appreciated.

Resting at Castle Fallsview Funeral Home (506) 634-1701 (309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB) visitation for Michelle will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 2:00 – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, July 20, 2023, beginning at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church (360 Dufferin Row, Saint John). Following the Mass, interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations be made in Michelle’s memory to Bobby’s Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
