Obituary of Leslie Anthony Adams
Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Loch Lomond Villa on Wednesday August 2nd, 2023, Leslie Anthony Adams passed away at the age of 86. Born in West Saint John on May 29th 1937, he was the son of the late George and Gladys Adams (nee Best). Beloved husband of 65 years and best friend Helen Adams (nee Howe). Les will be deeply missed by his children Mike Adams (Dawn), Cindy Hutchinson (Danny), Lana Graves (Chris), Darren Adams (Stacey Warnock-Powers) and daughter-in-law Debbie Adams (Forbes); 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Brothers Frank Adams, Nelson Adams (Nancy Adams)and sister-in-law Ina Adams.
Predeceased by his oldest son Leslie Anthony Adams Jr. and his wife Nancy Ann Adams (Chamberlain) and by his siblings: Gordon Adams, George Adams, Murray Adams, Ronald Adams, Douglas Adams, Harry Adams, Gladys Knox, Mary Sistilli, Madeline Bordage, Elsie Kenny and Paulette Adams.
Les started his career of driving with the City Transit of Saint John driving bus. He went onto driving for Irving Oil delivering oil and then moved onto the Saint John Fire Department where he worked for 14 years. He then moved onto driving for Baxter Dairies for more than 25 years and later moving onto driving for Sunbury Transport until the age of 82 years, where he was acknowledged for his 1 Million Miles Safe Driving without an accident. Les was a former member of the Carleton-Union Lodge, F.& A.M. and served in the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment (The Loyal Company),RCA.
The family wishes to thank the Staff of Loch Lomond Villa-Elm House for taking such wonderful care of our Dad and our kids Papa.You are truly amazing, so compassionate and it is Heaven on Earth there.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home (506-634-7424),111 Paradise Row, Saint John on Thursday, Aug 10th, 2023, from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 3pm, a reception will immediately follow.
