Robertson, Donna Pauline (nee Wetmore)
Robertson, Donna Pauline (nee Wetmore) of Saint John, wife of the late Herbert Robertson, passed away at Kings Way Care Centre, Quispamsis, on Thursday, August 10th, 2023. Donna was born February 5th, 1926, in Perry Point on the Kingston Peninsula to the late Roy and Myrtle (Bostwick) Wetmore. During WWII she served in the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service, and was later a member of the #68 Branch of the Legion (ex-service women). Donna had a penchant for sales which included Regal Card Co., Amway, Stainless Steel Cookware, World Book Encyclopedia, and later, managed a fabric store for several years. In her neighbourhood, she was known for her summer-long yard sales. She also loved to travel which included 4 family trips to the west coast (both Canada and the U.S.) in their 5th wheel trailer. A 3-week community group trip to Europe was a highlight for her. Church was important to Donna and when she entered the Care Centre 7 years ago, she became an adherent of Waypoint Church, the sponsoring church of KWCC.
Leaving to mourn are 2 sons, Brian (Fariba Elmi) Robertson of Ontario, Blake (Janice) Robertson of Pennsylvania, and 1 daughter, Trena (Ken) Moore of Quispamsis, 5 grandchildren Sophi, Greg, Kelley, Andrea and Wesley, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her late husband, Herb (former deputy-chief Saint John Police), she was predeceased by an infant son, Wayne, sisters Helen Wetmore and Velma Beyea, and brothers Guy and Courtlandt Wetmore.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home (506-634-7424), 111 Paradise Row, with visitation to be held on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Veteran Tribute Service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 17th, 2023, at 11am in Brenan’s Chapel. Interment in Bayview Cemetery, Hatfield Point.
For those unable to attend in person, the Funeral Service will be livestreamed via the Funeral Home website.
The family wishes to thank the Kings Way Care Centre staff for their impeccable care of Donna, and a special mention to niece Lynda Shaw and nephew Bob Wetmore for their caring visits.
