Obituary of Marie Audrey Wilcox

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Marie Audrey Wilcox on 21 August 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Black's Harbour, N.B. on 13 August 1940, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Ethel Wilcox. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Leo (late Kathleen) Wilcox and Carroll (Neata) Wilcox; her sisters Lelia (in infancy), Ida (late Gerald) McCoy, and Hazel (late Sherwood) Tidd.

She is survived by her loving sisters; Mary (late Beverly) Doucette, and Alice (Murray) Thorne, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews, whose birthdays she always remembered!  While Marie did not have any children, she loved every one of her cousins, nieces, and nephews as if they were her own.  Marie very much loved her family and many of her happiest moments were spent with cousins, nieces, and nephews at family get-togethers and family reunions both here at home and in Ontario.

Marie was a long-time employee of the Saint John Regional Library, in both the Hazen Ave and the Market Square locations before retiring after many years of service.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). At Marie's request, there will be no visitation or service. The interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens, 715 Latimore Lake Road, Saint John, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 3 pm. 

Remembrances to the Palliative Care unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital, or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful staff at Sea Street Special Care Home, the amazing Doctors and Nurses of the Emergency Department, and Palliative Care unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital, for their care and compassion in caring for Marie.
