Obituary of Mary Anne Keleher

It is with the most profound sadness that we announce that Mary Anne Keleher (nee Ouellette) passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, surrounded by the love of her two children at her side.

Mary Anne was born in Baker Brook, NB on December 6, 1934, and moved with her family to the West Side of Saint John, NB during her teens. It was there that she met the love of her life Raymond, and they shared 62 beautiful years together before his passing on May 18, 2017.

Always with a smile on her face, Mary Anne had a way of making everyone in her presence feel loved, accepted and part of her family. She embraced life with a fun loving and playful nature, which meant you would be delightfully entertained during a family get together, dancing in her living room, at the CYO or the 30-Up Club, bowling, enjoying a sing-song or just sitting around the table having a meal, a cup of tea, playing cards or Scrabble, and sharing stories of your life with her.  Mary Anne loved her career (Red Cross, Prosthetic Services, Revenue Canada Taxation), but nothing fulfilled her more than being a Mom and Grandmother and spending time with Raymond, her dogs and her very big, loving family throughout her lifetime.

Mary Anne will be dearly missed by her two children, Wayne Thomas Keleher and Pamela Marie (Mike) Boudreau, brother-in-law Herb Roy of Newington CT, sisters-in-law Marlene Johnsen of Chilliwack BC and Cecile Keleher of Saint John NB; three grandchildren, Ryan (Jie) Boudreau, Matthew Keleher (Jordan), and Meghan McAdam (Dakota); three great-grandsons Lucas Boudreau-Bartlett, Ryker Cyr and and a little one on the way for Ryan and Jie.; as well as many loving nieces and nephews and special family friends Shawn, Barb, Richard and Brenda.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Keleher; her parents Denis and Clauda (nee Nadeau) Ouellette, her brothers René, Armand, Enoil, Gilles, Marc, Conrad and sisters Therese and Carmen, nephew Brian Ouellette, great-nephew Daniel Ouellette and great-niece Jasmine Cavanaugh.

We would like to express our gratitude for the kindness, love and support that was given to Mary Anne during her time at the Shannex, Embassy Hall, especially during her palliative care. They went above and beyond, and it meant the world to us.

She will be forever missed. “Breathe easy and sleep well our dear Mary Anne, you are home.”

Resting at Castle’s Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John NB (506-634-1701). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish (360 Dufferin Row) on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 12:00 PM with interment following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
