Sue,
So sorry to hear of you Dads passing. I was away and just hear this now. He was an integral figure of Manawagonish Rd. I remember him as a child, always so kind and friendly when walking past to go to “Dukies” store for freezies Then later in life watching him meticulously maintain his property, with such pride, and always a smile on his face. My most recent memory is of your dear father sitting in front of his home waving to all who passed. Sue, cherish your memories they will guide and support you during this most difficult time. My sincerest sympathies ~ sending love to you and your family.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. He was a die hard Quinton Heights resident and was always working on one project or another but always had time to stop in the middle of a road hockey game and just ask how we were doing. I’m sure all the many great memories you have and stories you hear of him will help to carry you through this.

Deep condolences to family and friends. Doug was an amazing man, the true epitome of the word "hospitality". One of those who was real and allowed his personality to mentor and to be used as joy to many, both locals and visitors. I was lucky to have shared time with Doug over the years. I will miss Doug, but shall deeply treasure the memories. Wherever his energy flows, he will be bringing happiness for the ride. Cheers my friend.

Mr King was such a happy person who loved being a TIANB member. He always bragged about attending every TIANB Conference and was so proud of that. He was a Pioneer Award Recipient in 2000. I retired as President and CEO of TIANB in 2022 and Mr. King was unfortunately too ill to attend my last Summit in 2021. He will be missed at the 40th Anniversary of TIANB Summit in November 2023. Rest in peace Mr. King.

So sorry to hear the sad news. Doug gave my wife and I a first class tour of the major sites, including the place where stars such as Dean Martin and the likes went to get away from the hectic life. The place overlooks the Bay of Fundy. I doubt there are to many who have seen this place. In my lifetime I have never known a man of such ingenious talent. If one was to see his house in comparison to his neighbour's, which originally were all of the Same desigñ, with Doug's enginuity, his house was a palace and stood out in a very pronounced way. Another was his ability to turn scrap items, such an old trailer home, which originally was left to decay in a farmers field into a summer home. I think Doug bought it for 500.00 dollars, moved it to his country place and turned it into a small luxuious palace. During our visit, Doug fond out that I had never seen a live moose, so he drove us through about 20 miles of bush road in hopes of seeing one with no luck. There is so much more that it would fill a book, all on a very positive note, so I will leave it at that, with all our love and respect.
