Obituary of Barbara Ann Dickison
It is with sadness that the family of Barbara Ann Dickison, 74, of Saint John announce her peaceful passing at The Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, December 22, 2023. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Edith (Galley) Dickison.
Barb had a few jobs over the years, but will be remembered as the smiling custodian of the Atlantic Superstore in Millidgeville in the opening years. She was a dedicated member of the R.A.O.B (Buffalo Club) and the Lady Glades. She was an avid dart player and played in several leagues around the city. In her earlier years, she could decorate a Christmas Tree like nobody’s business and would even decorate the trees of family and friends. She was one to often enjoy a cigarette, a cold Alpine, a word search puzzle, a game of cards and many games of Bingo. Barb’s family meant the world to her, she enjoyed the precious time she spent with all her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Lori Dickison (Treena Stanley); chosen daughter, Lisa Callaghan (Andrew); grandsons, Andrew Jackson (Shannon) and Brandon Jackson; great grandchildren, Jonah, Adrian, Gavin and Brynn; sisters, Jackie Verner, Lois Martin and Carol Dickison (Mike); brother, Douglas Dickison (Noel); as well as many special nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her companion of many years, Robert Burns; son, Wayne Dickison; and siblings, Edith, Marilyn, Mary, Joan, Jean, Bobby (her twin brother), Stanley, Gordon, Percy and Albert.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995).
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home, (111 Paradise Row, Saint John). A Service to Celebrate and Honour Barb’s life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 am from Brenan’s Chapel.
