Obituary of Bonnie Lunnie
It is with sadness that the family of Bonnie Lunnie (nee Moore) announce her peaceful passing on Monday, December 25, 2023, at Bobby’s Hospice, with her family by her side.
Bonnie was born on October 2, 1955, in Fredericton NB to the late Paul and Geraldine (nee Blizzard) Moore.
Bonnie was a kind and loving person who was also there to help those in need. She made the decision to be a stay-at-home mother to care for her daughter Gloria. Later, Bonnie assisted in caring for her grandson, Shane, who was her whole world. She loved him as if he were her own son and she formed an unbreakable bond with him. Her role as a caregiver was not done though as she cared for both her mother and father as they aged. She was a one-of-a-kind woman who was a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother, and an excellent caregiver. Her loving presence and warm smile will be deeply missed.
Bonnie is survived by her loving daughter Gloria (Doug) McCoy; cherished grandson Shane McCoy; step-daughter Terri-Anne Lunnie (Sammy); step-grandchildren MacKenzie Sayeau, William Sayeau ; brothers Timothy Moore and Robert (Rhonda) Moore; and nieces Marley Moore, Mariah Moore (C.J), and Madison Moore.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Gloria’s father Merle Howland, and husband Earl Lunnie.
Bonnie’s favorite holiday was Christmas and she looked forward to Christmas Day every year. It was a blessing and comfort that Bonnie was able to go out and see Christmas lights with her daughter and spend Christmas morning with her family before she left us.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr Heidi Moore, all the staff at the Douglas Special Care Home, Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital, and Bobby’s Hospice for their outstanding care. We are grateful for the compassion shown to Bonnie.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home (506) 634-1701 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John NB. In respecting Bonnie’s wishes cremation has taken place with no visitation or services to follow. A private family burial will take place in the summer of 2024 in Fredericton, NB.
