Obituary of Ronald Joseph Walsh

Ronald Joseph Walsh passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with family at his side. Ronald was born on December 5, 1957 in Saint John, NB to the late Frederick and Majorie (Chamberlain) Walsh.

Ronald will be dearly missed by his siblings Daryl Walsh (Eileen), Susan Walsh (Gerry), Sandra Mills (Neil), Patsy Craft (Jimmy) and Mary Beth Merzetti (Greg), very special aunt and uncle Pauline and Bill Taylor, his “best buddy” Rob & Tanya Brockbank and several nieces and nephews.

Ronald worked at Key Industries for several years, and with United Catena Workshop. He was an avid hockey fan, he enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ronald also enjoyed playing floor hockey and bowling for the Special Olympics.  He was an animal lover; they were always a big part of his life. From fish to farm animals, they were all important to him; especially furry friend ‘Little Freddy’.

Special thank you to Ronald’s caregivers Rob and Tanya Brockbank.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Ronald’s life will take place on Monday, January 29th at 12:00 Noon in Castle Fallsview Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Ronald’s memory can be made to KV Special Olympics, Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice.
