Obituary of Marie Anne Burton
It is with great sadness the family of Marie Anne Burton, of St. Stephen announce her passing on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Charlotte County Hospital. Born in St. Charles, N.B. Kent Co. in 1933 Marie Anne was a daughter of the late Joseph and Domine (Daigle) Daigle, and beloved wife of Leo Patrick Burton.
Marie Anne married Leo in 1962, they met while dancing in Orange Hall and have been dancing together ever since. She loved and deeply cared for her family, friends and neighbours; they spent 28 years living on the lower westside.
Marie Anne started her career with the Harrison family in Private Home Care where she worked for over 10 years. She then went on to work at the DVA Hospital as RNA care and support worker for 10 years. She was a long-time member of the 30 up club.
Marie Anne is survived by her husband; Leo Patrick Burton, one daughter; Linda (Nathan Scott) Burton, of St. Stephen, two grandchildren; Rachael (Michael) Renault, and Tina (George) Daigle, both of Moncton, daughter -in - law; Hesther Daigle, sister-in-law; Yvette Daigle, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marie Anne is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Marie Anne was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Domine Daigle, one son; Ernest Daigle, brothers; John Baptist Daigle, Albert (Theresa) Daigle, Alzie Daigle, Edmund Daigle, one sister; Natalie (Edgar Richard) Daigle.

The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). A visitation will be held on Friday February 9, 2024, from 9:30 am to 11:30am. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday February 9, 2024, at the Assumption Church at 12:00pm.
