Obituary of Leo Placide Ouellette
It is with profound sadness that the family of Leo Placide Ouellette announce his passing which occurred at home on March 1, 2024,. Born June 16, 1940, in Saint John, New Brunswick, to the late Placide and Matilda (LeBlanc) Ouellette.
Leo will be immensely missed by his wife of 61 years Margaret (Daigle) Ouellette; sons Randal Ouellette (Tina), Robert Ouellette (Natalie), and Gary Ouellette (Stephanie); daughter Michelle Ouellette (George); brothers Robert Ouellette (Ruth) and Ronald Ouellette; sister Lillian Ouellette; grandchildren Nicholas Ouellette, Jonathan Ouellette, Isabelle Ouellette, Sebastian Ouellette, Vivienne Ouellette, Ian Ouellette Naccache, great-grandchildren Lauren Fowler and Silas Bachiu; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Leo was predeceased by his brothers Ivan Ouellette and Norman Ouellette; brother-in-law Ovila Richard; sister Matilda Richard; and sisters-in-law Margaret, Betty, and Jeanette.
Leo had a passion for music, playing guitar, and singing. In his youth, he was known as the "Saint John’s Elvis Presley" for his love of Elvis music. He shared his musical talents in the church choir, was choir leader at the Queen of Peace prayer group, and loved to play whenever he could at family get-togethers.
Leo adored children, especially his six grandchildren. He took great pride in his yard and enjoyed being active outdoors. An avid history buff, Leo found joy in learning about the past.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Visitation will take place Monday, March 4, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Pius X Church Holy Redeemer on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM.

Leo's kindness, love for family, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of warmth and love.
