To Nancy, Troy, Mike, DJ, Finesse, Oliver & DJ children & Families,
We are heartbroken to hear about Tom. Our Community has lost a huge sports figure, educator, coach, mentor, true friend. Arnold & I worked together with Tom at STM as Colleagues. Always enjoyed our chats, laughs, visits, gatherings with Tom & Nancy. Tom was very proud of his Family as was evident at the gym, fields, games, tournaments. Always there to give a helping hand & coaching tips & encouragement. Tom was very good at Carpentry Projects. Loved helping out people. Enjoyed working with Tom at the Final 12 NBIAA Event for several years as Tom was our Captain- so much FUN- Nancy made Chili, Troy helped out, Mike would be there with FHS Boys B-ball, DJ getting things done- everyone working together. Easy to work with Tom always. He always made you feel great & important. THat's a true leader.
Laura & Sarah had the honor of being taught by Tom at STM. How lucky were they. Rest easy Tom. We'll 'keep an eye' on Nancy for you. Love you very much & miss you already xo
Arnold Nancy Laura & Sarah Taylor

To the King family:
I too was fortunate enough to have had Mr. King as my gym teacher at St.Rose school , we would get there early in the morning and head to the gym just to hear stories of the game he played the night before at Memorial Field as a member of the Saint John Dodgers, it didn't matter that I had gone to the game also , it was like he was our Magor Leaguer. R.I.P. Mr.King.

Aunt Nancy, Troy, Mike and famlies,
It is a sad time for so many as we mourn the loss of such Legend of a man.
He made such an impact on my life and on so many others with his enthusiasm, wisdom and genuine love of life. Reading all the posts over the last few days from people expressing their sympathy is a true testament of how much of a legacy he has left in this world.
He was a devoted family man, educator and coach. A man with such a genuine heart and kind soul. He was very high on my list of most favorite people in my life and I'm going to miss him deeply. It was qualities in him that I looked for in the man I chose to marry, and the way I raised my son. Qualities of a good man, good to the core.
Loving and admiring someone so much makes it so hard when you lose them, but he was a gift in my life who's memory will continue to bring me joy.
Love you Uncle Tom. You Sir, were a gentleman and a scholar.

It would take twenty pages for me to say how many wonderful memories I have of Tom. I cherished every day working with him and Dave at St. Malachy's. The three of us laughed together every day. Whenever I needed help or advice on a home renovation project, Tom was the 1st person I'd call. He came to my house and took the lead on a couple dozen of my projects, yet every time, he refused to take a dime when I offered to pay for his work. My deepest condolences go out to Nancy, Mike, Troy and the rest of Tom's family. I have never met a more well liked and respected man than Tom King. My life has been enriched by my friendship with him. I love you Tom. I hope you are resting in peace. Yours was a life well lived.

Dear Nancy, Mike and family. So sorry to hear of the passing of Tom. I will remember a wonderful man who always showed up with a smile and was quick with that quick laugh. The times that we coached together at RNS BB camp I could see his deep commitment and care for the kids under his watch- his coaching came from a genuine sense of wanting to make the players experience as enjoyable as ever- equipping them with skills and understanding and always making it fun. Tom's commitment to his family was always on display. The pride he had in watching his son "Kinger" as a Team NB'er or V Red was so evident and always with Nancy, who he so obviously adored, at his side. I have no doubt that Tom was both proud and fulfilled watching his son develop into a committed and successful coach- with the players always at the fore- and the buttons on his shirt could not contain the pride he had in watching grandson Oliver play with pure energy and passion for the sports he loved.
Mike- your Dad will forever be watching and smiling over you on the sideline and in the dugout. You will hold cherished memories and many learnings from an incredible dad and coach.
Nancy and family- may fond memories and the love of family be a blessing at this difficult time.
With deep condolences,
Clint and Lorraine Hamilton

Whether it was pitching a ball game, taking on one of his many carpentry projects or manning the grill for a family get together he gave it his all. Please accept our deepest condolences to you, Nancy, Mike, Troy and family. Tom was a wonderfull individual who always gave 100% of himself to everyone he came in contact with. We first met the King family through our children who went to kindergarten together. Through the many years Tom gave of himself throughout his knowledge of sports especially in baseball. Tom was a “Builder”. He took the time to individually teach, talk, & train the children and give them the knowledge and confidence to fulfill their future accomplishments. I know this first hand as Tom challenged my son to be “the best he could be”! Tom was a Great man. His memory will live on!

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Mr. King's passing. I was in the opposite Phys. Ed. class but we shared the gym on Friday's and he and I would have many chats. He was always encouraging me to keep going, despite my accident prone nature, and that I could accomplish anything. He always had a smile and a positive word for me in all my years at STM. When I started teaching a few years later, he was still Mr. King to me, despite insisting that I could now call him Tom. He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed by many. I send my sincerest condolences and keep the family in my prayers. May he rest in peace.

Tom King was a gentle giant and was class personified. I was one of the lucky few to have him as a phys Ed teacher in Jr High at Saint Rose as well as a student in many of his pitching clinics. He was by far my favourite educator as an adolescent You sure didn't want to be on the wrong end of a volleyball slung at 80 mph landing a foot from your head purposely if you weren't paying attention let me tell you..He really was the nicest, nicest man. A true icon of our city! Lots of love to Troy Mikey and Mrs King...I'm so sorry for your loss!
