Celebration of Life
Obituary of David Roy Putt
It is with sadness in their hearts that the family of David R. Putt, beloved husband of Diane Putt, announces his passing after a short illness on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. David was born on July 8, 1951, in Oxford England, and was the son of the late Royston and Gladys (Hunter) Putt.
David and Diane have shared over 43 years of marriage together and during that time they created many memories. During his working years, David began his career for British Leyland Auto Manufacturer working as a tool and die maker. When he moved to Canada, he worked for Maritime Industrial Machining until his retirement. In his spare time David’s passion was birding. There was nothing he loved more than the serene surroundings of the forest filled with a cacophony of bird song. He appreciated all kinds of birds and enjoyed spotting them and keeping track of them in his many bird books. David was a very proud member of the Saint John Naturalist Club. He was a soft spoken and outdoorsy kind of man, who would often be found behind the camera taking photos of everyone else. He was a proud firearms officer and loved traveling with his wife Diane. He enjoyed all aspects of Formula One racing and had visited a few of the tracks, such as the street track in Singapore. When you hear the joyful song of a wild bird, please pause and remember David.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Diane (Woods) Putt; his son Andrew and his wife Leanne and son Layne; his sisters, Janet (Paul) Butler and Cathy Marshall; as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Martin Putt.
