So sad to hear about Doreen’s passing. My sincere condolences to Doreen’s family and friends. I have many great memories of Doreen and her family during the summers when we went to our camp in Lepreau. May you rest in peace Doreen. From Lynn Elliott Charlton.

Just this past week the Lord has brought Doreen to my thoughts and so tonight I Googled her name to see what I could find. Doreen and I worked together at Lewiscraft for a few short years but I will never forget her. She was just about the most beautiful person I have known. So kind, loving, and always joyous. Truly she exemplified the fruits of the Spirit. I can only imagine the loss her family and close friends must be experiencing at this time but it brings a smile to my face knowing that she is looking into the face of our Saviour. I look forward to seeing her again.

Sending my condolences to the family. Mrs Cogswell was my Sunday School teacher at FBC a very long time ago. She was a wonderful lady and very strong in her faith. She leaves a wonderful legacy for her family to be proud of. I will miss the visitation and funeral due to my work schedule this week but please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It was my privilege to be Doreen’s pastor for over thirty years. Doreen loved the Lord Jesus and the Word of God. She was always in church for every service if she was physically able to be there. She loved the preaching and teaching of the Word of God. It was her burden for the people in her high rise that she requested to have a Bible study in her apartment. She put up announcements on their bulletin board, and personally went from room to room giving a personal invitation to come. Her apartment was soon too small for those who wanted to attend, so she secured the game room for our Bible study. This too became too small for those that wanted to attend, so we secured the chapel for the crowd. While we began each study with a time of singing in the chapel, Doreen would stand out in the hall, encouraging any who came by to come in for the Bible study. It was Doreen’s ministry. As the time for the Bible study came near, she would put up announcements in the tower’s bulletin, and on the door of the chapel. We had people from many different denominations and churches. We even had several retired pastors from various denominations. We encouraged people to ask questions for which we sought to give a Bible answer. We would limit our time to one hour. We were able to make many new friends, and see the Lord work in many lives. This was all do to the faithful work of Doreen, who had a deep concern for the people at Peoples Park Tower. This ministry continued for some twelve years. Praise the Lord! From Pastor Paul Fosmark

A wonderful life testimony to the gospel of Jesus Christ. She has fought the good fight, she has finished the race. Rest in Christ.
