Obituary of John Edward Rigby

With heavy hearts, the family announce the passing of John Rigby, loving husband of Phyllis Best, on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born September 28, 1937, in Montreal, QC, he was a son of the late James Rigby and Mary Jane Kelly.

In addition to his beloved wife, Phyllis, John is survived by his daughters: Jodi Rigby (Cory Dick), Jennifer Rigby (James Moffatt), Kim Rigby, and Wendy Rigby; grandchildren: Taylor, Kaylee, Shaylin, Brianna, Steven, and Jimmy; brother, Richard; sisters: Sandy, Susan, and Jane; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his grandson, Gary; brothers, Donald and George; and sister, Doreen.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Christian Mackin for his care, compassion, and professionalism in John’s final days. Your kindness will not be forgotten.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). In keeping with John’s wishes, there will not be any funeral services or visitation. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
