Obituary of Albert Murray O'Donnell
Albert Murray O'Donnell passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 17, 2024. Born in Welsford, NB, on March 31, 1945.
Albert is predeceased by his parents Bernard and Christina O'Donnell; and brothers, Thomas and Gordon.
Whether it was in construction, short-haul, or long-haul trucking, he had many careers spanning decades in the trucking industry. There was nothing more that he loved than being an owner and operator of his 18-wheeler, driving up and down the open road. A great highlight from that time was his 18-year Safe Driving Award for Excellence. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved going in the back woods of Welsford with his brother Gordon. He always had a joke and a smile at the ready. One of the last things he ever said was "Give me two twenties for the bridge, I need to get going down the road".
He is survived by his loving wife, of 52 years, Linda O'Donnell. He is also survived by his children Clinton (Brea) O'Donnell; daughter Kandy O'Donnell; cherished grandchildren Kylie and Haley; sister Mary (Ed) Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (506-634-7424). Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, a private burial for the immediate family will take place at St. Augustine's cemetery.
Donations in memory of Albert can be made out to the Salvation Army Atlantic. Online condolences may be shared at www.BrenansFH.com.
