Celebration of Life
Obituary of Patti Stephen
It is with so much sadness that the family of Patricia (Patti) Ann Stephen share the news of her sudden passing on June 20, 2024, following a very brief but courageous battle with cancer.
She leaves behind three loving children: Carolyn Stephen-Bogliuni (Gino Bogliuni); Emily Stephen (Josh Yeomans); Scott Stephen; and two vivacious grandchildren, Charlie and Wesley Yeomans. She also leaves behind former husband and lifelong friend Rick Stephen; special friend Derrick Ford; best friends Lesley Corbett, Gail Waberski, and Marline Cormier; her sister Rose (Dan) Murphy; and her ever-loving mother, Iris Stevens. Patti was predeceased by her father, Lauder, and brother, Larry (Joudry).
During her life Patti was a selfless mother, friend, and daughter, as well as an avid outdoor enthusiast and nature lover. She had many creative pursuits over the years, from sewing, to baking and cooking, and painting and drawing. She was an avid reader, birdwatcher, and a supporter of arts and theatre. She loved doing puzzles and playing Scrabble. Patti always put others before herself and helped those around her whenever and however she could. She is known among friends and family for being one of the most thoughtful people we know.
She serves as an inspiration to us all on many fronts, especially when it comes to her drive and motivation surrounding physical activity. Patti endured numerous physical challenges over recent years and yet they never stopped her from daily walks, regular exercise, and pushing herself to the best of her abilities. She never gave up.
Patti will be remembered for her compassion, quiet strength and humility, unwavering care of her friends, family, and community members, and for the love she shared with all of us for nature, birds, and natural beauty. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed.
Her family would like to thank Kim Spence, as well as the rest of her friends, who provided comfort throughout her life and final days, and her family doctor, Dr. Jane Ashfield, for her care and support.
You are invited to join in a celebration of life that will be held on July 12, 2024, from 6-8:30 PM at the Shadow Lawn Inn in Rothesay.
Donations in memory of Patti may be made to the Imperial Theatre, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, or a charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences to the family can be made at kennebecasisfh.com.
