Obituary of Bernice Elizabeth Sorckoff

It is with great sadness that the family of Bernice Elizabeth Sorckoff announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on April 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Laird) Melanson.

Bernice loved dancing and listening to music. She also adored all of her pets. Bernice was a mom to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Bernice leaves behind her daughters, Brenda, Linda, Vickie, Kerry (Jimmy); 11 grandchildren along with several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her brothers, John “Jackie”, George, Paul; as well as her granddaughter, Karla.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A Funeral Liturgy will be held from The Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Bernice may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
