My sympathy to Michael's Family and his many Friends. I have known Michael since he was a high school student at St Mary's Redemptorist Junior HIgh School Seminary in Brockville ,Ontario in the 1960's. In recent years It was always a delight to talk to Michael and spend time with him when I visited Saint John. I live in Toronto so Michael and I often spoke on the phone at length until we ran out of things to talk about until the next time. I will miss spending time with Michael when I visit Saint John this August. I often felt comforted when I talked to Michael and feeling very good about our conversation until my next visit with him. Our sincere condolences on the loss of your uncle Mike. We knew Mike, David and Sandy from Holy Trinity and they were all such special people. Here is a picture of some of the Holy Trinity parishioners which got together to share lunch and a few laughs at Britt's on May 9. We will keep Mike and your family in our prayers. Mike was a very special person and one of the best readers at Holy Trinity and we always enjoyed his readings, especially on Good Friday. May God Bless You as he welcomes Mike into his kingdom.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His booming voice and infectious laugh could be heard by all.
I enjiyed our time together going to Tim's for coffee, Swiss Chalet for dinner or the Imperial.
I am away on vacation and feel bad that I will be unable to attend the funeral but a memorial mass will be said on Saturday August 3rd at 4 pm mass at St Rose worship site.

To the family,
Yes, indeed he was a very special man. I first met Mike when he visited his Aunt in Parkland, attending a tea the Unit had when my husband and I volunteered there. I could see immediately where Mike got some of his outstanding traits, knowing his Aunt well. They loved each other dearly, that was clear. I also knew his dear friend David from the Regional. He took wonderful care of my Dad when he was on the Orthopedic floor for a few months after a bad car accident. Mike and I often caught up after a Parkland visit, or doing ministry at the hospital.
I’m sure the Angels would have be playing their harps and singing praises when he arrived in Heaven as well as welcomed warmly by his many deceased loved ones.“Well done, good and faithful servant” - May you find rest and comfort Above for eternity.

To all of Michael’s family, I am so sorry for your loss.Mike was one of the most genuine and kind people I have ever known. His faith was inspirational.I have very fond memories of working with him at the District 8 School Board Office, where he was a wonderful mentor and colleague. He brought the best out of people through his example and making them feel valued and capable. When I was receiving cancer treatments years ago, Mike faithfully brought me Holy Communion at the hospital. Although we saw each other infrequently in the last number of years, Mike's welcoming embrace, ready smile and deep laugh always made reconnecting a joyous experience. To know Mike was to love him. Rest in Peace my dear friend. We have been blessed for having known you.

Dear Uncle Mike,
It's with a heavy heart that I bid you farewell. Our chats were always filled with wisdom and laughter, and your influence on my life has been profound. You taught me more than I could ever express—how to be kind, patient, and resilient in the face of challenges.
Living just a stone's throw away from you in New Brunswick for those three years was a blessing I'll forever cherish. Your warmth and guidance made those years unforgettable. Thank you for being a role model and a pillar of strength in my life.
I am deeply grateful for every moment we shared and for the lessons you imparted. You will be dearly missed, Uncle Mike.
With love and gratitude,
Adam

My sympathy to Michael's family and friends, and I'm sure your fond memories will be a comfort to you.
Michael and I were friends from our time at St. Thomas Un. in the 1960's. I was staying with Michael during Holy Week in 1975 and he was the first person that I spoke with about my strong inclination to become a priest. He was more than supportive and we both shed a couple of tears. He was indeed a very beautiful person and a real blessing to all lucky enough to have him for a friend.
So I'll be thanking God for the positive influence he had on me and so many others.
Rest in peace brother Michael. St. John will be much poorer without you but much enriched because of having had you in its midst for the time you lived there.

This news saddens me a great deal. Mike and his sister Sandy and his mother Agnes were very dear to my family growing up. I just lost my mom a month ago and got a hug from Mike, so needless to say this is a huge shock. He's definitely one of the good ones and I offer my prayers to the family.

It is with great sadness to hear of Mike’s passing and I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Mike’s family. I have so many wonderful memories of Mike in the more than 50 years we have been friends including working closely together throughout most of our careers. It is never easy to say goodbye to someone who was always a part of our lives. When that person is gone, there is a hole where he /she used to be in our life. . That’s what many of us are feeling today. There is however, great comfort to know that Mike touched other peoples lives in the same way he touched mine and that is how I will always remember him.
Susan and Fred Creary.

Mike, you are now in the loving arms of J. David Lewis who waited patiently for your homecoming for seven years and two days. Though all of us miss you immensely in this earthly realm you have now been given your just reward for all the lives you touched for the past seventy-seven years. Well done thy good and faithful servant.
You allowed me to lean on you Mike when I lost my Fred one month after David died in your arms on June 30th, 2017. We lost our twin flames that year but you rescued me with your kindness, support, wise counsel and sharing your vulnerability with me and those you helped over eight weeks in the grief group at Bobby’s Hospice. I will be forever grateful for your friendship, encouragement, candour and celebration when Kevin came into my life. You two connect immediately and he too feels a loss from you leaving us this week. I am so grateful that the three of us got out for breakfast last Sunday morning then visited David’s grave and paid our respects to his dear father “Arthur B” as you always referred to him as then of course swung by to see dear Sandy and your Mum where you will join all of them at St. Joseph’s Cemetery for your final resting place on Monday.
Love to Caren and her family as well as the Lewis family who became your in-laws nearly fifty years ago as well as your friends the McLaughlin’s, the Ladies of Burpee Avenue and so many others you spoke of with fondness in the short time you and I have been friends who are all feeling a shared sense of pain and loss.
Much love from Mack and Kevin.

To Michaels Family: These words were always said "Let's meet for a coffee" We never did have that coffee but when we did meet it always with huge hug and the laughter like no other one could be in a crowd and hear that infectious laugh and you knew Mike was there. You & David were treated everyone you met with a genuine hug and make one feel it was only God, Micheal and you. Or God David and you met these two when I became an associate with the SCIC 2014.. well my friend drink up and give David a huge hug for me.. until we meet again..Shalom.. JJJARVIS

Michael was not only my cousin but good friend. While we were posted to Toronto, Michael visited us in Oakville. Those memories will always be with us. We were particularly fortunate to have him out to my brother Martin’s for a visit last summer. Again a lasting memory. He was a gentle soul and though we don’t live in Saint John we’ll think of him often.
