Sincere condolences on the loss of your father (and mother). I missed seeing him across the row at St. Mark's the past several weeks. They were both lovely, cheerful and always shared a smile. Praying for your parents and the family.

Dear Brett, Cliff, Darrell and family,
We are so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I used to love to go to your Mom and Dad’s home as they always made me feel so welcome. They were kind, happy and so capable. I don’t think you could speak of one without the other so it doesn’t surprise me that your Dad is gone too. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We are happy that we had the privilege of knowing them.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann (Creamer) and Don Ketchum

Brett, Cliff, Darrell and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. We loved your Dad amd Mom. We feel they were part of our family.
Nancy’s parents Arnie and Marg loved having them as neighbors . Ernie and Arnies lawns have never been the same since they sold their homes.
Ernie and Nellie were the kindest people we have ever known
There is no doubt they are both in heaven.
We will keep you all in our prayers.
Sincerely,
Tom & Nancy

Our sincere condolences to Brett, Cliff, Darrel and all the grandchildren.
We first met Ernie and Nelly back in 2004 and became instant friends. Saturday breakfasts together soon became the norm. Over many dinners and glasses of wine, we shared childhood memories and Ernie's love of South Africa would always shine through. Nelly's creativity and sewing skills left their mark on our home and on me with her many creations.
During my own health issues and battles with cancer they stayed loving and true right beside me. During Nelly's battle with cancer, my health did not allow me a lot of visiting time, but we continued to share our hopes and dreams in our nightly phone calls. Ernie was a bit of a lost soul after losing Nelly. He loved her so much. I remember being in attendance at their 50th Anniversary celebration when he commented that his life had changed so much, the day he met his own "Grace Kelly" and knew they would be together always. Although we will miss Ernie, we are happy knowing he and Nelly are walking together again. Sleep well dear Ernie and give Nelly a kiss for us. See you on the other side.

Ernie and Nelly spent quite some time reminiscing about their childhood in Amanzimtoti, with my sister -in-law Cal, during my brother and his wife's visit to Merrit Hill in 2007. I spent many fun drives to Costco with Ernie and Nelly. They were wonderful friends and terrific neighbors . I will really miss them !!!

"My sincere condolences to all the Turner family. Ernie and I met over 30 years ago at IBM in Toronto. I met Nelly very shortly afterwards. We worked closely together and were transferred together from Toronto to beautiful Saint John in 1996. We remained coworkers, neighbours and close friends ever since. I miss them both dearly. Thankfully, they have been reunited. Cherish the wonderful memories they have left you."

Such an incredible couple. Meeting Ernie at the very start of the creation of the IBM call Center in Saint John, his cheeky sense of humour always delighted. When my car broke down on the way back from Montreal, I left it half way and came home with a rental. The next morning, Ernie picked me up and accompanied me to go buy a new car. He was always ready to be of service, and ready for an adventure! May he rest in peace with the love of his life.

Ernie and Nellie were wonderful people, We met them both when Mike purchased Ernie’s BMW K75 and Ernie became his mentor. We loved having them stop in to see us, such a helpful person who we often called upon. So sorry for such a great loss, Debbie and Mike Faulkner.

Cliff and family, I am so sad to learn of your dad’s passing. He truly wanted to be with Nellie, his shining light and I’m sure his heart was broken in losing her. I have such wonderful memories of them together and know they are happy in being reunited, too soon for both of them. May you all find comfort in your memories together.
Fondly,
Nadia Zed

Our deepest sympathies to all of Ernie's family … such a fine man with so many stories to tell, and so cheerful a disposition. He and Nellie made a handsome and devoted couple … so close and devoted that they could not stay apart. During the few occasions that we were together he took delight in his tales of surfing as a youth and in this we compared notes and shared experiences. He, like his dear Nellie, will be immensely missed. May they rest in peace, and may the knowledge of their love and caring bring peace to all of you who mourn them. Rest easy Ernie ….
