Obituary of David Alexander Lumini

It is with great sadness the family of David Alexander Lumini announce his sudden, unexpected passing. David was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother-in-law and son-in-law. He was a steadfast friend especially with his buddies in Ontario (Petar, Shane and Darren) and would have done anything for them.

David was an elementary school teacher at Hanover Public School for 15 years in Brampton, Ontario, and has worked at a few elementary schools these past six years in the Tri-County region. He was passionate about making learning fun and will be greatly missed by his colleagues and students in both Ontario and Nova Scotia.

David was a talented writer and artist and used these talents across all aspects of his life. He loved Warhammer 40K, painting miniatures and various other board games. He was a DC and Marvel superhero fan and emulated Superman. He loved Super Mario and Luigi and numerous other video games including Animal Crossing. He was a collector, including GI Joe and Star War toys, comics and Pokémon cards. A movie buff, he loved listening to movie reviews and statistics. Music defined the stages of his life, and he made emotional connections with the songs that impacted him through the years. Pop and Rock were his favourites from all decades, and he enjoyed playing SingStar.  His memory was outstanding for both life events and factual information, and he was able to answer the majority of questions while watching Jeopardy or other trivia games. David loved sharing his hobbies with everyone in his life – his wife, kids, friends, other family members and students. This made him so much fun and loved by all the people he touched.

He was a funny guy and took so much pleasure in making others laugh. He was also emotional and had an unswerving love for his wife and children. It brought him loads of joy, making his family happy, and each memory of his thoughtful actions leaves deep sorrow for his immediate little family, who was his entire world.

David is lovingly remembered by his adoring wife, Amanda; beautiful children Alexander and Megan; his special puppy Pugsley; mother and father-in-law Cheryl Davis and Donnie McCue who integrated him as their own son; brother and sisters-in-law Mark Russell (Jill) and Stephen Fairbrother (Alicia); several nieces and nephews; and his siblings Stephen and Paula.

David was predeceased by his parents Peter and Nancy, and his father-in-law, Paul Russell.
