As a young lacrosse player, Conradi’s Gas Station was one of the best places to hang out. The office contained striking old lacrosse pictures, and talking with Fred Conradi and Peter Conradi was captivating, stimulating, and transforming.
I was eleven (1963), my love for lacrosse began. Peter and Maureen gave me the opportunity to be the ball boy for the Junior A team. Watching practices, traveling to away games, being in the locker and observing the games at floor level were unbelievable life-changing experiences. Taping fibers on the players' arms, sweeping the floor in the locker, taking out the garbage, washing the lacrosse balls with a comet and a bristled brush before practices and between periods at the home games were my duties. Peter would give me money for a burger, fries and coke at Hutches on the beach on the way home from away games. I loved it!
The opportunity Peter gave me was a gift. Peter inspired me, I witnessing his love for the game and his players and watched his drive, determination and toughness. Peter built programs and changed lives.
We would stop at Conradi’s for empty oil cans to hang in the top corners of the goalposts. Great targets for young players, many great lacrosse players benefitted from those cans.
So many great memories, life changing for me – Thanks so much Peter for all you did that ignited the flame for the fire for my lacrosse career. You were one tough guy!

Dear Peter, Jill, and family,
I am so sorry to hear that Uncle Peter has passed away. He was a wonderful Uncle to me. My sons Kyle and Aaron listened to the great advice Uncle shared with them, like, ‘never swear in the presence of a lady’ or, ‘locker room talk stays in the locker room’ or ‘always stand up when a lady enters a room’. Lessons held in high regard, now, ever closer in their hearts. I have so many nice memories of the times spent together, and our many, long conversations over the phone.
Apple pie and ice cream about once a week at my place for years, and every visit was a good one. I loved that man, and I’m going to miss him. As my son Kyle says, “He was the best”. I think he was the best too.
We are thinking of you in this time of loss, and sending love and prayers to you.
Sincerely, Nancy Duncan

I was sad to read today of the passing of Mr Conradi. The Conradi name and lacrosse go hand in hand, especially in the Niagara region.
The Conradi Lacrosse Tournament for U22 ( formerly juvenile) box players still takes place annually in "Zone 9".... played out of the Niagara on the Lake Arena, the same arena that Mr Conradi coached the Niagara Warriors in back in the 1960's.... I remember being at those games, the excitment of being in the stands, and the road trips to watch the Warriors.
My sincere condolences to the Conradi family on behalf of Zone 9 Lacrosse, his tournament, part of his lacrosse legacy will continue to be played annually.

As a kid in St. Catharines in the early sixties, I delivered the daily paper to Conradi's Service Station for many years. When I began to drive, Conradi's Supertest was the only choice for service and fuel for me and my extended family, in fact the whole neighbourhood. I have many fond memories of Butch, Peter, and their Dad. My sincere condolences to the family.

We are so very sorry for your loss of Peter, a loved Father, Father-in-law & Grandfather.
Butch remembers well the many hours Peter spent taking him skating, often after working a long day at the service station. He remembers Peter teaching him to drive & all of the comic books he bought for him. So many good memories of those days when they were young.
We remember what a kind & generous "Uncle Peter" he was to our children. He & Maureen never forgot a birthday or Christmas or Easter, always bringing gifts for Michael, Sam & Emily.
We send our condolences to you all, with love.
Butch & Donna Conradi
