Obituary of Randy Michael John Swanson
It is with absolutely shattered hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Randy Michael John Swanson, aka Swanny, on Sunday, September 15, 2024 after losing the COVID battle. Leaving behind the love of his life, best friend and confidant, Bridget Burke and his four incredibly amazing girls; Zoey, Josephine, Olivia and Hope. He will be dearly missed by his parents; Philip and Joyce (Tregoning) Swanson, sister; Lorna Swanson (Dave) and Stephanie Swanson. He was a loving Uncle to Toby, Logan, Sarah and Paige. Much loved son-in-law of Pat Burke.
Anyone who knew Randy knew his ability to brighten the mood in the room with that mischievous grin and infectious laugh. He took immense pride in his greatest treasures, his four daughters, whom he loved with everything he had. He valued time spent with these ladies over everything and would go to great lengths to show his unconditional love.
Those who knew Randy knew he was an amazing Carpenter who would always lend a helping hand. If something needed to be built, Randy was your guy, and it was always done with meticulous precision. His compassionate and giving nature will never be forgotten by those who are left to remember him. Apart from building, Randy loved sports. He could usually be found yelling at a Jays or Leafs game, depending on the time of year. If he wasn’t watching a game, he was playing in one. He will be dearly missed by his teammates from the Road House, those were the days.
Randy loved to be on the water, it’s where he found his peace. It was a passion that he shared deeply with his Dad. Randy and Bridget had numerous boats, adventures and lifelong friends from their G-Dock days.
In his short time here, Randy made many great friends, too many in fact to name. He will be missed by many teammates, work buddies, boaters and tradesman alike.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3. 506-634-1701.
