Obituary of Hope Clara Nicolle
It is with great sadness that the family of Hope Nicolle announce that she went peacefully home to heaven on September 21, 2024.
Hope was born in Murray Harbour, PEI on April 14, 1928, the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret MacLeod. She was mainly a stay-at-home mom and wife but she also worked for Sears in the North End and the Janlynn Dress Shop in uptown Saint John.
Hope was a hostess, she loved offering a cup of tea or ginger ale to anyone who dropped in, along with a sweet or cheese and crackers. For most of her life she loved spending time gardening, summers in PEI at the homestead in Murray River, and enjoying the Spring in Florida.
She was a faithful follower of Jesus and a member of The Harbour Christian Church formerly known as Douglas Avenue Christian Church.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her family and friends, including those she met at Parkland Saint John (Shannex), where she lived in Carleton Hall from 2015 until her recent move to Bobby’s Hospice.
Hope loved her many great-great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, grandchildren, and children. She is survived by three of her four children: Elaine (Ken) Campbell, Barbara (Ronald) Hutton and David (Debbie) Nicolle. In addition to her husband of 67 years, Clayton (Nick) Nicolle, Hope was predeceased by her parents, her four brothers and three sisters, her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Wayne McLellan, and grand-daughter Brenda Sue Hutton.
