I met Dawn and Peter many years ago singing with Spencer Belyea in his many choirs. Her infectious smile filled a room, and her encouraging words in helping with music were always encouraging. Dawn was always seated beside me and would give me a gentle hint when I was off key.. She was always there with a pencil, eraser, and Fishermans' Lozenges .
I cannot imagine not having her nightingale voice beside me.
Dawn,when I hear the music of Oklahoma, I can hear you humming it next to me. You will be missed, however, the lessons you have taught me, the smiles, and jokes, stories shared will stay with me always.

As Debbie's (Wilson) best childhood friend, I spent a lot of time playing in the Short's kitchen, at the camp on the Washedemoak Lake, and in the old barn between their house and ours. I have many lovely memories of spending time with Deb's older 'sister' and crew.
My deepest condolences to Peter and the entire family. I'm so glad that Debbie and Clayton were able to come to Saint John this summer and visit with Dawn, Peter, and the family while everyone was able to enjoy the visit together. RIP Dawn.

I was so saddened to hear the news of Dawn’s passing. Having sung in numerous choirs as sopranos together over the years, Dawn and I bonded. Our recent experience of going to entertain at nursing homes was a special experience. Dawn had a fun and unique way of entertaining the residents, She was vivacious and full of faith. We know she is in a good place because she had a strong faith. She will be missed by many!

Peter and family - This is such a shock to read. I had no idea that she had become ill. She and Marilyn Lester attended a Treble Clef concert last season and we had a wonderful chat getting caught up on the shared news and shared acquaintances. Dawn was also pleased to see Valerie Grant as a member of our women's choir. Thinking of you, Peter, and your family. Dawn and I sang together in a couple of choirs and she was always so encouraging when I was struggling with music that I thought was above my skills. Over the years I would see her (and you, Peter) at so many music events and you could tell she loved every one. Her support of the NB Festival of Music was amazing and in conversations with her, I could tell that she loved seeing the young folks performing and expressing her joy in watching each of them blossom from year to year.
