My condolences to Wendy’s family and friends.
It was a sad day yesterday, when strangely, after visiting the graves of my sister and parents I received the phone call with the sad news of Wendy’s passing. It was a case of not making the phone call to her. I told my husband I had planned this week as Wendy had been on my mind for a few days. Sadly, I left it too late.
Wendy had been my friend since the early 70’s when she worked with my husband on the Irvine refinery project at the time, it being our first overseas contract away from family it was good to have made a friend of the same age. That friendship has continued, and we shared our life events mostly over the phone and the occasional airmail letter. Since. Wendy and her Mum did visit us, and Wendy also travelled over to us alone. She got to stand very close to Prince Charles our now king which pleased her very much! Me too!
My daughters Faye and Laura join me in sending our love to all of Wendy’s family and friends. Keep the happy times in focus. Lynne Thomas nee Reubens

My condolences to Wendy's family and close friends.
Wendy was my Tawny Owl through all my years of Girl Guides. I was fortunate enough to run into Wendy this past summer . All smiles remembering who I was and where I use to live. She was always looking out for everyone else. In order to get our Canada Cord there was a group of us who had to sleep in a tent overnight in the winter (mid 80's) I know she was out every hour checking on us to make sure we didn't freeze. She has provided many a girl with lots of good campfire memories.

Tracy,Jason,& families,friends & cousins
I was shocked to learn of Wendy’s sudden death. As a north ender and member of St Peters I have known Wendy most of my life.Wendy was so proud of all the accomplishments of family.Wendy loved sharing stories of her great niece & nephews who greatly enriched her life .Wendy had a heart for the poor & was very generous with supplying food to those less fortunate.Above all Wendy had the greatest appreciation for all those who showed kindness to her. This list included her closest friends and her family doctor. You will never know the extent to which your kindnesses impacted Wendy.Wendy loved her Mother beyond measure and was attentive to her needs until her Mum’s death.Kim’s death left Wendy with a broken heart which could not be healed.Wendy loved the Lord & I know she now rests in His arms where there is no more pain or suffering.I will be attending Wendy’s mass of Christian burial & celebrating all the ways Wendy touched so many of us.

To Tracy and Jason and your families, I want to extend my heartfelt condolences on Wendy’s passing. I was saddened to hear the news. So much of my childhood was positively impacted by Girl Guides and your Grandmother, Rita and Aunt Wendy were there at the beginning as my wonderful Brownie Leaders. Throughout the years, she would always take the time to catch up. She always had wonderful stories to share and the best laugh. May your memories of her help during this difficult time.

My sincerest condolences to Wendy,S family and family of friends. It seems I’ve known Wendy since she was just a young girl. Growing up in the north end and attending St. Peter’s Parish and St. Peter’s School we were all part of a loving community. Years later I worked with Wendy at NBTel / Aliant where her pleasant smile and attitude was always present. And again I connected with Wendy through St. Peter’s CWL. Rest in peace Wendy and know that you touched the lives of many.

Wendy and I worked a number of years at NBTel/Aliant. She was always upbeat with a huge smile. She could handle any task without hesitation. She was known as the person that always went the extra mile. A great organizer who left nothing out. Wendy organized my retirement party and let me tell you it was quite a sendoff. Since then we kept in touch and I would catch up with her on Sundays at Holy Redeemer Church. Wendy's smile was infectious. She will be sadly missed but her memory will last forever. Our deepest sympathy to her family,
love from,
Jim & Theresa

Tracy and Jason; My condolences on the loss of your aunt Wendy. I have so many memories of her as Taunie Owl, catechism teacher, North ender , and great friend of the family. She dedicated countless hours to us St Peter’s kids and my childhood would not have been the same without her. So many visits to their house down the steep driveway on Douglas Ave and then to another apt. on Douglas Ave.
The highlight of my younger years were the Brownie sleepovers in the basement of the church. We were allowed to bring heaps of candy and treats and I remember being scolded in the middle of the night because I was making noise. Wendy yelled out at me to put my marbles away and I said Taunie Owl, they aren’t marbles, they are candy . She laughed out loud . It didn’t occur to her that I would still be eating candy in the wee hours.
In recent years, she reached out to me at HVHS to sponsor kids in need at Christmas. A generous soul always .
May she rest in peace.

I am very sorry to hear of Wendy's passing. Wendy and I along with my siblings were also "almost cousins" through the Kennedy family like Ginger Doucet. I have fond memories of our younger years, particularly while attending St. Peter's school, when Wendy, Ginger Doucet, Mary Kennedy and I (cousins and almost cousins) were all in the same class together.
May Wendy rest in peace.
