Obituary of Raymond Robert Kyle
With heavy hearts, the family of Raymond Kyle, husband of 46 years to Patricia (Estabrooks Hughes) Kyle, announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at his home on Milkish Creek Road on the Kingston Peninsula. Born September 11, 1956, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Raymond and Cora (English) Kyle.
First and foremost, Raymond was “Papa”, a title that meant the world to him. He loved his three grandsons more than anything, and especially loved taking them fishing. He adored his children, and was a loving and faithful husband to Patricia, and they did everything together. Family time was the centre of his world, and he had a way of giving you one look and you knew everything would be alright. He was always good for a joke and would easily have the whole family in stitches with his stories and antics. When he wasn’t gathered around the home with his family, he could be found working on his old Chevy trucks. Raymond worked for many years as a Marine Captain on the Romeo & Juliet, and retiring on the Peninsula Princess in 2011 after 33 years of service. He also worked for a time on Irving’s tankers and tugboats.
In addition to his beloved wife, Patricia, Raymond is survived by his son, Raymond “Scott” Kyle (Felicia); daughter, Jannah Kyle (Berley); grandsons: Robert Dylan Edwards, Easton Raymond Kyle, and Carson Gordon Kyle; brothers and sisters: Edward, Corine, Adeline, Kevin, Norine, and Kelvin; as well as many nieces and nephews, including special niece Cherie Thorne (Doug).
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Dylan Robert Kyle.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). In keeping with Raymond’s wishes, he has been interred on his homestead, surrounded by those he loved. A gathering for friends and family will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm at the family homestead.
For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
