When I saw David in the hospital before he died his first words to me were “you’re wonderful”. David had a contagious positive attitude. Coincidently I bought a 1978 Pontiac LeMans the same year as David. Whenever I saw him at the parking lot we would compare the condition of our cars. The first thing he would do is toss a dry towel across my hood then say “Mike, not enough wax”.
My car did not make it through the 80’s, I think his car made it into the 2000’s before he sold it and it is probably still on the road. Hugh and John, great to see you guys today and my condolences. Doug I know you were here with us today in spirit, my condolences. Cousin Mike

John, Hugh and Doug, I was saddened to read of David's passing. He was such a delightful person to meet with his great smile and laughter (especially when Doug Campbell was around) Doug would tease him but he certainly could return the kidding).
My thoughts are with you and your families at this time.

I haven't seen David for decades...and only new him briefly. We met when I started my career in automotive sales at Centennial Pontiac in 1983. David would drop by frequently to see what new models had arrived and his interest in cars...particularly his 1978 Lemans...was infectious. I always enjoyed my chats with him and pass along my condolences to his family and friends.

So enjoyed my chats with David each morning and evening as he watched over my car and teased me about my ugly black winter tires. I bought hubcaps to “pretty them up” and within days had lost 2! So I put the remaining 2 on the side facing David’s booth. Worked for both of us!! Rest easy David.
