Obituary of William John Linton
It is with heavy hearts that the family of William ‘ Bill’ John Linton announce his passing on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Bill was born on October 26, 1942 in Saint John, NB to the late John and Vera (Hayward) Linton.
Bill will be dearly missed by his son Todd (Corina) Linton, daughter Sherri Linton, brothers Wayne and Graham Linton, grandchildren; Tylor (Kayla), Kyle (Kensie), Chris (Michelle), Tanner and Janet, great grandchildren; Isabelle, Riley, Taylor, Alex and Kole, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Bill was predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn (Mullin) Linton, second wife Sharon (Johnston) Linton, siblings; Robert Linton, Vera Linton, Mildred Nash and Eleanor Goss.
Bill worked as a Pipe Fitter and Millwright at Irving Pulp and Paper for 42 years.
Bill was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 and dart team captain. He loved to play cards especially 45’s and crib. He loved hunting and fishing, especially with his son. They enjoyed going fishing on the East Branch River and hunting in Bloomfield Ridge.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Saturday, December 28th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will take place on Friday, December 27th at 7:00 PM. A Memorial Service be held at 12:00 Noon, with interment following in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Bill’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
