Obituary of George Norman Gordon
With heavy hearts, the family of George Gordon announce his passing at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Friday, October 9, 2015. He was born in Saint John, NB to the late Albert and Melvina ( nee Cormier) Gordon.
George spent his life in Saint John. Growing up on the city’s west side, he graduated from St. Malachy’s High School and chose to settle in the Milford area. George worked for the province of New Brunswick with the Dept. of Health and Welfare. He was an avid traveler and photographer. He would travel as often as he could and loved discovering new places. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially if it involved cycling or golf! George was an active member of the community, but took particular pride in being a long time member of Saint Rose of Lima church and parish, where he was a devoted volunteer. Although George never married he had many friends both at home and in Florida, where he loved to winter.
George is survived by his sisters: Lillian Fortune and Rita Leblanc; brother Gerald Gordon, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his brother, Mike Gordon, and his baby sister, Pearl.
