Obituary of Elizabeth Annie Richards

After a period of failing health Elizabeth Annie (Pickett) Richards of Central Greenwich, Kings County passed away peacefully on July 13, 2016 in her 96th year at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon Richards in 2009 and her brother William Pickett in 1943. Born on January 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Chester Pickett and Annie May Pickett of Lower Kars. Betty was a retired farm wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a longtime member of the Anglican Church Women and St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Oak Point. Survived by her four children, J. Anne Byers of Central Greenwich, William (Barbara) Richards of Oak Point, Evelyn (Gerald Bance) Richards of Fredericton and Charles (Sue) Richards of Rusagonis, NB; nine grandchildren, Edward and Charles Bacon, Clark, Elizabeth, Theresa and Bradford Richards, Joseph Richards, Sarah Maclean and Joshua Richards; five step-grandchildren, David and Peter Bance, Philip O’Connell-Cooper, Daryl and Ben Cooper; eight great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and four cousins. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425) with visitation on Sunday, July 17 and Monday, July 18 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Oak Point with interment following the service in St Paul’s Anglican Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, New Brunswick Extra Mural program or any charity of the donor’s choice.
