Obituary of Dorothy Collette Orr

It is with great sadness the family of Dorothy Collette (Stepaniak) Orr, wife of the late Frederick "Ted" Orr, announce her passing, which occurred on December 18, 2016 at Shannex Tucker Hall, Saint John, NB. Born on March 16, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Theodosia (Novak) Stepaniak. Dorothy graduated from New Waterford School of Nursing and went on to work as a nurse for 42 years at the Old Provincial Hosptial, later known as Centracare. Dorothy is survived by her children: Terry Orr, Judy Orr and Susan (Paul) Clifford; sister Rosalie Carrigan; granddaughters Jennifer and Lindsay Clifford; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Michael and John, sisters: Pologia, Helena, Cecelia, Hughena and twin sister Ann. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd., Saint John, NB (634-7425). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 12:00 PM from Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 260 Dufferin Row, Saint John, NB. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
