Cathy ,Karen ,and family . So saddened to here of your fathers passing . I have nothing but great memories of living next door for over 20 years .The Duck was a unique character, who put his own spin on things .I always enjoyed visiting " the compound"- conversations with your father were lively and enlightening .He suffered no fools, and beneath what I used to fear as a gruff exterior, was a man with a heart of gold ,and great intellect. For those who knew him ,he will not be forgotten . May he rest in peace.

Hi Cathy, So sorry to hear of your loss. From my understanding of your dad he was quite the character; known for his spirit, grit, athleticism, and charisma - that tells me he continues to live on....because those are all of your qualities xoxo Love, Monique, Rick, Jessica & Morgan

So sorry to learn of Don's passing . I knew him as a school mate and as a boyhood friend . Don was a valued member of the Summerside Kinsmen Midgets , Maritime Champions of 1949-50 ... We were so pleased that he was able to join us at the Banner Raising Ceremony in Summerside in August 2014 , where he re-united with many of his teammates and became re-aquainted with his Hometown ! He was a dedicated team player with exceptional stickhandling and scoring abilities ! Barbara joins me in expressing our sincere condolences to all Family members ! Paul H Schurman

We were saddened to learn of Don's death as we had loved our time spent with him at Dave's cottage at Wheatley River. He, Dave and Charlie were a great comedy team and had an interesting outlook on life. As a child in the 40's I remember Don as a handsome teenager who loved to tease! My Dad, Jack Ireland, was a cousin of your Grampa, Ern, and my parents spent a lot of time visiting them. Don made a lasting impression- he left this world a happier place. With his infectious sense of humour. We will all miss him!
