Obituary of Jennifer Lynn Stackhouse

Stackhouse, Jennifer Lynn (1974-2017) - It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Mrs. Jennifer (Taylor) Stackhouse of Quispamsis, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 after a long battle with breast cancer. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of Larry and Karen (Spear) Taylor of Quispamsis. She volunteered her time for a number of causes such as CHIMO, Nashwaaksis Middle School, Leo Hayes High School, Corbett Avenue Wesleyan and as the first Canadian representative for Compassion that Compels. Jennifer was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick Fredericton with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Sociology. A true warrior, she also completed a 5km run in the CIBC Run for the Cure during her illness. A thank you goes out to the outstanding nursing staff of 5C North and 5C South at the Saint John Regional Hospital, the staff of the Segal Cancer Research Centre at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Dr. Gerald Batist, Brigitte Sonier-Ferguson, Dr. Bruno Battistini, KV Old Boys Club, Islandview Lions Club, everyone who donated to and assisted with Jennifer’s fundraiser and a big thank you for the care of Jennifer by her sister Sarah Messer during her final days. She leaves behind her son Matthew Stackhouse, sister Sarah (Taylor) (Chris) Messer, brother Mark (Laura) Taylor, parents Larry and Karen Taylor, nieces Mia and Dominyka Taylor, nephew Ethan Messer who he adored as Aunt Gugu and husband Jim Stackhouse. Visitation will take place at Brenan’s Bayview Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425) in Saint John on May 15, 2017 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.
