Obituary of June Virginia McCluskey
It is with appreciation for a life well-lived that the family of June Virginia (Friars) McCluskey announce her passing, which occurred on Friday, May 19, 2017. Born in Fredericton, NB, on June 4, 1925, she was a daughter to the late Edgar James and Gertrude (Elliot) Friars.
Loving mother to Reginald (Maureen), Montague, PEI and Katherine McCluskey, Vancouver, BC; cherished grandmother to 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. June is also survived by her brother James Friars of Thornhill ON; many nieces and nephews, including special nephews: Barry Sullivan, Alan and Edgar Friars and special niece Pam Lockhart.
Besides her parents, June was predeceased by siblings: Edgar Friars, Florence Best, Nellie Stevenson, Grace Sullivan, Fredricka Berry, Jean Craig, and Robert Friars and special friend and partner, Charles Howe.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 10: AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in June’s memory can be made to Rocmaura Foundation Inc.
