Obituary of Carol Ann McKiel

The death of Carol McKiel of Browns Flat, loving wife of Doug McKiel occurred on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on April 6, 1943 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Sarah (Vautour) Gaudet. In addition to her husband, Doug, Carol is also survived by her son, Kevin McKiel at home and daughter, Rose Marie Clark of Saint John; sisters, Betty Hay of Saint John, Marie Davis of Saint John, Joyce Olson (Don) of Florida, Sandra Speight (Clinton) of Browns Flat, Gina Skidd (David) of Miramichi and Gail Fugere (Gilles) of Ontario; grandchildren, Stephen Wood, Noah McKiel, Kristen and Katie Clark; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Audrey Wood; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by sisters, Doreen Hayes and Frances Toal. Although there will be no visiting, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held from Wesley United Church, Browns Flat on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Wesley United Church Cemetery and will be immediately followed by a reception at the Greenwich Recreation Association, Browns Flat. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, West Saint John (634-7425). In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the SJRH Extra Mural Program c/o the SJRH Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
