Obituary of Robert Harold Gallop

Gallop, Robert Harold "Bob" – The family of Robert Harold "Bob" Gallop, husband of Joan (Campbell) Gallop, announces his passing, which occurred at Rocmaura Nursing home on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Saint John on October 12, 1928, he was a son of the late J. Harold and Lillie (Fisher) Gallop. Bob worked for nine years at National Canadian Drug, Two years at Thorne’s Hardware, and over 23 years at Canada Post as a mail clerk before his retirement in 1991. In addition to his wife Joan of 67 years, Bob is survived by his sons: Cory, Paul, Glen (Laurie Erasmus) and Jeffrey (Judy); three grandchildren, Trina, Megan and Maria-Kayt; his niece, Pamela Gallop; several of Joan’s nieces and nephews; as well as many cousins. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by two brothers, Roy and Daryl. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425) with visiting on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 am from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, remembrances may be made to Alzheimer Society of NB, Rocmaura Foundation, Key Industries or any charity of the donor’s choice.
