Obituary of Clinton Ronald Anderson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Clinton Anderson of Grand Bay-Westfield that occurred after a brief illness on Monday July 24, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Edna (Lewis) Anderson and born on May 11, 1934 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Howard and Muriel (Lee) Anderson. Clint had a 47 year career at the Winter Port and following retirement, he was employed at DMK Marine where he enjoyed working with the cruise ships. He loved baseball and played for various ball teams throughout the city, including St. Peters, which was inducted into the Saint John Sports Hall of Fame. Clint also played in the River Valley Old Timers League in his later years, not stopping until the age of 72. He could always be found at one of two locations, watching a ball game with his buddies or at Tim Hortons enjoying a coffee and smoke. He was a proud member of ILA 273. Clint will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends. In addition to his wife of 57 years, Edna, Clint is also survived and will be dearly missed by their daughters, Diane Kirkpatrick (Jamie) and Jill Patterson (Shawn Ingersoll); adoring grandsons who were the apples of his eye, Nick Kirkpatrick and Jude Patterson; sister-in-law, Jean Cormack; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Herbert, Duke and Dougie and sister, Bernice. Clint’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Drs. Patrick Omotoso and Todd Chedore; as well as the OR and Palliative Care staff at the SJRH for their friendship and care. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, West Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to wear a baseball hat and or jersey in memory of Clint. Interment will take place at a later date in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the IWK or charity of the donor’s choice.
