Obituary of Trina Elaine Eldridge

Peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice, Trina passed away with her husband of 41 years by her side. Trina was a proud mother to her three children, and relished in everything they accomplished. Trina took great joy in the presence of her family and friends, as well as her grand-"fur babies", Penny and Lucy. For 30 years, Trina was a self-employed bookkeeper and tax preparer. She was a proud member of the rowdy class of ’72 from St. Vincent’s High School and cherished the many friendships she made during her time at the school. Trina was also a staple member of her Monday night bowling league, with whom she shared fun, laughter and, of course, a few strings of bowling. Trina enjoyed her monthly Friday night card games with the girls where she revelled in winning but was ungracious in losing. Prior to her passing, Trina fought cancer for 9 years, and remained strong and tenacious throughout her journey. Trina was a positive symbol of strength to many she encountered, especially those struggling with a chronic illness. Trina has left behind an incredible mark on the cancer community, as well as her community of Grand Bay Westfield. The family would also like to extend special thanks to Dr. Burnell and the staff of the chemo room for the many years of care and compassion, as well as Ralph Johnson and the staff of Bobby’s Hospice for the care and support provided during Trina’s final days. Trina is survived by her loving husband William "Bill" Eldridge; her parents J. Gregory and Faye (Doucette) O’Neill; her son Jerrod Eldridge; daughters: Holly Eldridge (Rob) and Kerina "Keri" Eldridge (James); brothers: Trent (Monique), John, and Shawn O’Neill; and sister Erin O’Neill (Jason); sisters in law: Katherine Furness (Ralph), Anne Cole (David); Brothers in law: Bryson, Bobby and Gerry (Sue); as well as Jean Marry a special aunt. She was predeceased by her sister Diane (O’Neill) Glass. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425) with visitation on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 2-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 12 PM at Our Lady of the Assumption, 360 Dufferin Row. Interment will be held at St. Augustine’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Saint John Regional Oncology Department. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
