Obituary of Ronald Everett Mills
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ronald Mills, husband to Joan (Fox) Mills, announces his passing which occurred on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at his residence. Born on August 18, 1931 in Saint John, he was a son to the late John and Gladys (Wood) Mills.
Ron was employed at TS Simms Brush Factory for 23 years and spent 27 years employed with Fundy Line Motel. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed building ship and airplane models. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan, his daughters: Joan (John) Irvine, Barbara (Peter) Harding, and Lynn (Kendall) Hickey, his grandchildren: Tammy (Scott) Coleman, Shelley Irvine, Amy (Tim) Gillespie, Eugene (Katie) Harding and Denver Hickey (Becca Sharkey), his great grandchildren: Sara, Alexis, Harrison, Seth, Mackenzie and Payton, his stepchildren: Debbie Smith (Zeke Roberts), Cheri Cormier and Harold (Kathy) Reid, his siblings: Hazen Mills and Marjorie Clifford, Brother-in-law Norman Craft and sister-in-law Marion (Gerry) Schofield, special friends: Brenda and Greg Galbraith and Albert and Karen Hebert, along with many nieces, nephews and members of his extended family.
Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Craft) Mills, brothers: Lloyd (Isabell), Arthur (Evelyn), Reginald and Garnett (Betty) and sister Frances McKinnon.
The family would like to extend their "Thanks" to the many people who took part in caring for Ron. Dr. Poirier, Dr. R. Stephenson, Dr. Comeau, Dr. Andriani, his extramural nurses: Eileen, Cathy, Susan and Jennifer, your collective compassion and care did not go unnoticed. Thank you.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, (634-7424) where family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, September 29 from 2-4 and 6-8. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 11 AM from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel with interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association, SPCA-Animal Recue, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of donor’s choice.
