Obituary of Arthur Joseph Losier

With heavy hearts, the family of Arthur Losier, loving husband of almost 72 years to Catherine "Kay" (McGrath) Losier, announce his passing on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born January 11, 1920 in Losier Settlement, he was a son of the late Joseph Edmond and Marie Rachel (McGrath) Losier. A WWII veteran, Arthur served overseas as a gunner with the 1st Canadian Regiment, and was always proud of our Canadian flag. He then worked for 37 years with Local 30 as a Shift Millwright with Irving Pulp and Paper. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, and will be remembered for being the Montreal Canadiens’ most adoring fan. In addition to his devoted wife, Kay, Arthur is survived by his children: Douglas (Grace), Brenda Murphy (Dick), and Linda Losier (Steve Jamer); daughter-in-law, Kim Losier; grandchildren: David (Karen), Daniel Jr. (Krista), Alisha (Greg), Matthew (Achsah), Sheena (Patrick), Jonathan, and Caitlyn (Brad); and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family, of which he was one of 12 children. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425), with visiting on Thursday, November 23, 2017 from 3 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Grand Bay-Westfield, on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 10 am. Remembrances to The Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, Ridgewood Comfort Fund, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
