Obituary of Joyce Elaine Gereau

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Joyce Elaine Gereau (nee Wilson) which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 10, 2017 after a brief illness. Joyce was born on April 26, 1935 in Fredericton Junction, NB to the late Amos and Myrtle Wilson (nee Harris). Joyce was a woman of faith and was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church for over 50 years. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and knitting. Joyce will be fondly remembered by her daughters Karen (Kevin) Bonner of Saint John and Sandra Gereau of Fredericton; sister in law Freyda Gereau (late Floyd); grandchildren Neil and Kathleen Bonner, both of Saint John; brother Weldon (Betty) Wilson of Oromocto, sisters Nola Pollock (late Donald) of Harvey and Lorna Manning (James) of Fredericton Junction, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Joyce was predeceased by her brother Harley and recently by her husband Ora Gereau. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd., Saint John, NB (634-7425) with visitation on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Rusagonis Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Joyce may be made to Lancaster Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
