Obituary of Joan Marlene Donald

While we celebrate a life well lived, we grieve for the passing of Joan Marlene Donald (Bustin), loving wife to John Edson Donald, which occurred on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born on November 15, 1931 in Saint John, NB, Joan was a daughter to the late Donald Creighton and Annie May (Hicks) Bustin. Joan was full of love for her husband, six children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan’s kitchen was never closed and always smelled delicious, much to the delight of her numerous friends and family that visited often. Joan’s kitchen table was a place to catch up, have a bite and feel at home. Joan loved to garden. She passed on this love to her many friends and family that have pieces of her beautiful flowers in their own gardens. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her sons: William Donald (Lisa), Keith Donald, Kevin Donald (Kelley Lomax) and Terry Donald (Beth); daughters: Janice Donald and Karen McElman (Daniel); several grandchildren and great- grandchildren; her brother, Creighton Bustin (Venieta); sisters: June Bustin, Sharon Bustin and Donna Gaudet; brother-in-law, Norman Langille, along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Besides her parents Joan was predeceased by sisters: Myrna Chittick (Gordon) and Valerie Langille and brother-in-law, Gordon Gaudet. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). In keeping with Joan’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from the Brenan’s Bay View Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Parkinson Canada or Rocmaura Foundation Inc.
