Obituary of Patrick Cyril Doiron

Doiron, Patrick "Pat" Cyril – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Patrick "Pat" Cyril Doiron, loving husband of Tammy, announces his unexpected passing, which occurred on Monday, January 8, 2018 at his residence. Born on August 20, 1955 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Cyril "Pete" and Constance (Finigan) Doiron. In his younger years, Pat was a Sergeant in the Artillery Division of the Canadian Militia. He lived a life of service, working with the Centre for Youth Care, the Salvation Army, the John Howard Society and Key Industries. Pat was a therapeutic foster parent for 30 years, helping children find success in the most difficult situations. He was known for his wonderful smile and quick wit, and for always being there for anyone in need. Known for his open door policy, which let people know they were heard and accepted, whether they were family or not. He believed everyone should have someone on their side, no matter what. He was truly a gentle giant. Pat’s greatest joy was his family. His love and devotion to them was unparalleled. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Pat is survived by his loving wife Tammy; son, Alex Doiron (Ashley); siblings, Peter (Jeanette), Jane Lockhart (Dan), Bob (Pam), Michael (Diane), and Christine; grandson, Lincoln, who was the light of his life; as well as many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In addition to his parents, Patrick was predeceased by his sister, Cheryl (Evelyn) and his grand niece Charlotte. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 3PM-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 12:10PM. Interment to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada or Key Industries. Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
